Are the beaches of Amsterdam open and accessible?

The beaches of Amsterdam are open and accessible. Swimming in the sea is also allowed. Everyone in the Netherlands, also on the beach and in the sea, must keep a minimum distance of 1.5 meters from each other (unless they belong to the same household).
Mouth masks are not mandatory on the beach (or in the sea).

In the Netherlands, everyone from the age of 13 is obliged to wear a (non-medical) mouth mask in public transport and also it is mandatory to wear a mouth mask in shops, museums, stations, parking garages, petrol stations and other public indoor spaces.

Are shops open?

Non-essential shops, such as fashion stores, are allowed to receive customers without a prior appointment from 28 April 2021 onwards. Here, too, conditions apply, including a maximum number of simultaneous customers.

Are attractions, museums, theaters and other tourist spots still open?

Cinemas, museums, attractions and other recreational and cultural facilities are open, as are outdoor facilities such as theme parks and zoos. You must book ticktets in advance.

Are supermarkets open?

Essential retail stores, such as supermarkets, drugstores, gas stations and pharmacies are opened. They must comply with the measures, however, and wearing a face mask is mandatory to be allowed into the store.

Are restaurants, beach-pavilions, cafés and terraces open?

Restaurants, beach-pavilions, cafés and terraces are allowed to be open between 06:00 and 22:00.

Will events in Amsterdam still take place as planned?

Festivals and other events are no longer allowed from October 14, 2020.
