Ferry over the IJ - Rondvaart

One of the best and exciting free attraction in Amsterdam are the ferries across the IJ. These ferries provide a great view over the IJ, passing ships and the skyline of Amsterdam, especially when it’s nice weather. These ferries are in fact no touristic sights but public transport. They transport passengers to the other side in about 6 minutes.
The ferries leave from the jetties, which can be found on the ‘back side’ of Amsterdam central station. There are always two ferries during the day, leaving every six minutes simultaneously from either side. After 21:00 PM and during the night, there is only one ferry, which leaves every 12 minutes from either side.
Furthermore Ferry over the IJ is near the following sights: Tram line 2 (±250 m), Lovers Cruise (±250 m), Stromma Cruise (±300 m), Hop On Hop Off Boat (±350 m) & EYE Film Museum (±400 m).
