Jaap Eden Ice Rink 2026

The Jaap Eden IJsbaan in Amsterdam-East is one of the best-known ice rinks in the Netherlands and every winter the skating heart of Amsterdam.

• History: the rink opened in 1961 and is named after the speed skater and cyclist Jaap Eden.
• 400-metre track: on the 400-metre outdoor track you skate your laps under the open sky, just like the professionals.
• Ice hall: the covered ice hall is mainly used by clubs; during the Christmas holidays it is also open to the public.
• Season: the rink is open every year from early October until March; the 2026/27 season runs from Saturday 10 October 2026 to Sunday 21 March 2027.
• Christmas holidays: from Saturday 19 December 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027 special public skating times apply, for example on 24 December from 11:00 to 16:45, on 25 and 26 December and 1 January from 11:00 to 16:30 and on 31 December from 09:25 to 16:30.
• Public sessions: check the rink's website for current public skating times and skate rental.
• Getting there: the rink is located on the Radioweg in the Watergraafsmeer and is easy to reach by public transport.
