Flying a drone in Amsterdam

As a private person you are in practice not allowed to fly a drone over Amsterdam city centre.

• Schiphol: a large part of the city lies within the control zone around Schiphol, where strict air traffic rules apply.
• Change: from 26 November 2026 the airspace around airports will be divided differently; check before every flight where you may fly.
• Rules: all current drone rules are on rijksoverheid.nl (in Dutch).
